Getting to know our new German centre-back
The first few days of United’s pre-season were as busy as expected. After confirming the returns of Shayne Lavery and Shane McLoughlin on permanent deals, and then the very different type of return of Gassan Ahadme on a season-long loan, the fourth arrival of the window was through the door by the end of the week.
Enter the 6-foot 3-inch frame of centre-back Patrick Bauer. The 33-year-old joins the U’s on a one-year deal, and to find out a bit more about our new big German we’ve asked some fans of his previous clubs for some insight, and looked at some of his underlying data.
