Barnsley (H) Match Preview
We're back at the Abbey tomorrow as Barnsley come to CB5. After the disaster against Cheltenham on Tuesday (forgive us for no match report from that one, we're all still too traumatised) United have a chance to cement their good home form and get back to winning ways.
It's not like Bonner to drop players after a poor performance but he'll be thinking about changes from the side that lost to Cheltenham - we don't know who, if anyone, will make way, but we think Lankester could get a start, as well as Brophy, with Liam O'Neil in contention for a midfield spot too, despite Adam May finding the net in Gloucestershire. Most likely it'll just be the one change, but we'll find out at 2pm tomorrow.
Expected U's Line-Up: Mitov, Williams, Jones, Okedina, May, Digby, Brophy, Knibbs, Smith, Ironside.
Who's In The Dugout? It's our old friend Michael Duff, formerly of Cheltenham, now pitched up at Oakwell
Who's Their Player To Watch? Former Suffolk Road Safety Campaigner James Norwood moved up North after three seasons at Ipswich, which culminated with him getting nicked for driving round Bury St Edmunds pissed up with a certain Paul Mullin.
What's Their Recent Form Like? Hotly tipped for promotion, they've made an indifferent start to the season, winning three, losing three and drawing two.
Any Ex-United Players? A couple, Robbie Cundy spent the first half of the lockdown promotion season in our defence, and Adam Phillips played four times for us on loan from Norwich back in 2018.
Last Time Out: Barnsley 2-0 U's, 9 March 1993
This is our first meeting in almost thirty years, and the last wasn't exactly a vintage U's performance losing 2-0 at Oakwell. At least the long-sleeved Fujitsu shirts looked good.
A Matchday Album To Listen To: Coby Sey - Conduit
Mixing spoken word, grime and experimental club beats Coby Sey drops a remarkable debut that perfectly captures the sound of 2022 London on record
From The Archive: U's 2-1 Barnsley, 26 October 1991
It's those jazzy Fujitsu shirts on show again as Dublin & Claridge secure the points for the U's
