It’s been a weekend without Cambridge United playing football. The world just doesn’t feel quite right. At least we were spared the full fortnight off thanks to a beleaguered squad managing to grab a point from the Wimbledon game, much to both managers’ frustration that the game had to go ahead at all due to the new stricter EFL rules on international postponements.

It was a month that saw United go unbeaten in all competitions and one that saw another calamitous refereeing decision rob us of crucial points that could have had us sitting top of the division when the calendar page flipped to October. But it was also a month that saw a few worrying trends emerge and a narrative around injury recoveries from the manager that most would rather was kept in-house.
The second month of our round-ups picks out five big talking points from September. Do get involved with your thoughts below.
