August is officially in the books. United’s first month back in League One saw three games of league action and two EFL cup games, the second of which led to us valiantly bowing out of the competition against Millwall. The month started in glorious sunshine against Barnet but finished in gloomy rain that foreshadowed some miserable mid-November conditions against Huddersfield. Hopefully the refereeing gets a bit better by then. We saw a host of debuts, moments of panic at the lack of transfer activity, and renewed optimism as the last week of the window brought the reinforcements we needed.
